Boston Terrier in 18th Century French Dress

I saw this amazing dress in the Metropolitan Museum's collection and I just knew I had to paint it. I thought the Boston Terrier's distinct contrast coloring would be perfect for the red stripes. Prints of the painting is available at my Etsy Store :)

Back to Classic

I went back to painting classic portraits, inspired by an English 18th century riding coat in the Metropolitan Museum. I chose to paint a Shiba Inu in the outfit because the color of a Shiba just fit the outfit so well. The painting is available as a print, wood block, or magnet.

Banjo and Mogwai

Two more pastels inspired by super cute puppies. Banjo is an extremely fluffy Keeshond and Mogwai is an Alaskan Klee Kai, a miniature breed of the Siberian Husky.

Clea and Kate

So I made a couple more pastels. The first one is a Miniature Schnauzer named "Clea" where I used royal blue for the shadows and a bright pink background. I love schnauzers' fuzzy faces! The second one is Kate from "Just Another Dog Blog", showing off her enormous tongue! You should definitely check out her blog, really great photographs of her and her buddies and the writing is quite humorous.

Puppies in Pastels

So I decided to try my hand at doing portraits in pastel instead of watercolor. I went with straight forward portraits of puppies instead of dressed in costumes to get my feet wet. I think they're very cute!

My first blog!

So... I finally decided to start a blog. I hope I can keep it up-to-date and make it at least somewhat entertaining and worthwhile.

Two days ago, I started a new series of paintings named the "Fashion Animal" series. They are mash-ups of contemporary fashion photography with various animals. I really enjoyed painting these because they combine my love of fashion with my love for art and they remind me of the old master paintings I was working on previously. I have made three Fashion Animal paintings so far but I will be making a lot more...

Dachshund in Barbara Bui

White Cat in a Hat

All the paintings are available at my Etsy store.
